My Coworker is selling his e46 m3 and has bbs RS-GTs he is not including in the sale. He has offered them to me for $1000 and my stock wheels. Thoughts? Seems like a good deal on my end.

Tires included, rears are shot (mine are too almost) fronts are mayrun... so new tires are in order soon.

Yep, it appears they go used for about 1800 a set.

i guess i'm just saying... consider that into the calculations.
he may be unable to sell the car with shot tires. so youre almost doing him a favor there. and then you have to buy new rubber too.
i have no idea on the price of those wheels new (or used) so i'm just relating what i would be considering in the deal.

yeah, definitely go for it. What size/offset? I almost picked up a set for my E90 but the offset was a little too aggressive.

I agree, he offered the car for sale for $9500 or $8500 with stock wheels, under the pretense that I would supply my stock wheels. Didn't want to give the wheels away, and this way he can get what he was asking for the car. He already has an offer of what he wanted $8500 with the stock wheels.

Its a vert, with 143k on the clock and some issues. Not a travesty in any way, but its rough and could use some love.

First, as long as the wheels are in good shape that's a screaming deal. Apex wheels are far less, but more than that new and probably in that ballpark used (obviously depending on size).
Second, how many miles on his M3? That seems absurdly cheap...

143k with some issues. New diff, body has seen better days, vert motor is out, but the top is good. 6spd, its a decent project for someone, or just enjoy it for what it is and beat the snot out of it.

it really depends on what you want. I just bought mine for 22k, but it only had 13k on the clock. Technically, according to NADA and stuff I over paid by about 5k.
in 2007 I bought my first one for 30k. Honestly, you should be able to find a good driver, 6spd for 15k with sub (but barely) 100k mi. you're 6spd 50k mi cars are still around 20-25k depending on colors.
Verts have bottomed out. No one wants a vert, when i was looking I found verts for 18k, 6spd, with like 30k mi on them. I almost bit the bullet.
Honestly, the deal of the century can be had on a smg vert, and the verts are not that bad for a DD, they're just not all RACECAR because it doesnt have a roof, for DD duty, you dont notice any of the chassis short comings and even if you track or autox it, you're still going to have a great chassis, just not as great as the coupe. It will be quite a while before the short commings in the chassis actually hold you back.
